The Tohkatsu Inba Daishi pilgrimage

The Tohkatsu Inba Daishi pilgrimage is a folk event that has been handed down for more than 200 years.
It is held in Tohkatsu area from May 1st to May 5th every year.
About 1,000 people walk 80km for 5 days.
The pilgrims wear a white costume and walk while chanting a saint.
On the final day of the event, children dress up and make a parade.
It is an event that imitates the Buddhist pilgrimage to the 88 temples in Shikoku.
Although it is to worship Kobo Daishi, it is not an event of Shingon sect which was founded by Kobo Daishi, but of this area beyond sects. This event is held across the religious sect.
Since the participating area overlaps with the Basin of Teganuma, I guess it might have been wisdom to avoid conflicts between villages over water rights.
